Shade City Brewfest is “a brewfest with a green heart.”
Our goal is to employ zero and low-waste tactics at every turn for Shade City. Here are some of the ways we are reducing waste:
Patrons will bring their own cups! We are not having cups made for this event. There will be used/donated cups available to purchase should someone forget a cup.
Food vendors will use reusable flatware and plates.
There will be a dishwashing station for cleaning plates for reuse managed by our friends at Roots Zero Waste Market.
Promotional event posters will be printed on the back of old posters or on recycled paper.
We will provide as many alternative transportation options as we can including: enhanced bus routes, bike parking, Lime scooter and bike discounts, and more!
Since 2023, Shade City has partnered with ClimateHound to calculate our total carbon footprint, implement emissions reduction initiatives, and maintain carbon neutral certification for the event.
